A Chubby Pink Owl and a Little Digi

Yesterday, I got Etsy mail.
Yay !!

I had ordered from Jadedmind - http://www.jadedmind.etsy.com/ - and received my order very promptly, a very gracious seller. I also got the final result of my Alchemy request... a little chubby bright pink owl for my cell phone. He's adorable ! He was made by kishcrafts - http://www.kishcrafts.etsy.com/ I just love him. So unique and fun. I think he needs a NAME.
I've also been doing a lot of blog reading lately and found a new digi scrapping site, Tangie Baxter Design... there are several freebies (**freebies !! wahoo !!***) on their blog - http://tbdloft.typepad.com/ I love the colors of the site and the overall feel to it. Digital scrapbooking is a lot of fun and really rewarding. I have several friends who were scared at first to try it but did and were happy they did. The thing that kept me from doing digital pages was the fear that it would be really expensive to get them printed. I found out that you can get them printed at Costco quite inexpensively. The helpful cashier guy at my Costco clued me in to an even cheaper way to get your 12x12 pages printed... they offer even larger sizes and if you're ok with a photo editing program (I use photoshop elements) you can put your layouts together in one file and have them printed in this bigger format and then just cut them apart. I recently made an album full of 8x8 digital pages for my grandmother's 90th birthday party and most people didn't even realize they were made digitally. :)

Fantastic Modern Rugs from AllModern.com and a $25 Giveaway

NOW CLOSED, thanks for entering!! Winter has arrived with a vengeance here! Along with the snow and cold outside are the wonderful things that get tracked indoors. Can you hear the sarcasm? I can nearly hear my poor floors screaming every time my husband drags in ice melt pellets, wet snow and mud. We have tile floors, wood laminate floors and also carpeting. Each one of my flooring types have rugs to help protect them... and as a bonus, rugs are just plain fun! We jokingly call the big 8x5 rug in the living room the "messy mat" because it catches all my husband's crumbs. Now is a great time to invest in new and modern rugs from AllM odern.com (part of the CSN Stores network) as it's an inexpensive way to change the entire feel of your home. What better time to change the look in your home than the dreary wintertime! It's like a mood pick-up for your home and family. I could really use some new runners and this one is beautiful: However, I like

Sit-upon Tutorial By Rachel Beyer

As a former Girl Scout, I have lots of fun camp memories. I remember learning to tie knots, set up camp and to cook over the campfire. An essential Girl Scout tradition is making a sit-upon. A sit-upon is a homemade waterproof cushion. They are easy to make and I remember using them every time we did any activity while sitting on the bare ground, which most often was damp or scattered with uncomfortable sticks and pebbles. A sit-upon is great for sitting around the campfire, your backyard, or even a sporting event.  There are lots of ways to make a sit-upon. When I was a Brownie Girl Scout, we made ours from old vinyl tablecloths and foam. But in a pinch, you can use a plastic garbage bag and a stack of old newspapers for padding. To revisit this simple craft project, I decided to use a roll of vintage vinyl wallpaper I found at a thrift store and some foam I bought at my local craft store. Essential Supplies: Waterproof Material (vinyl tablecloth, or other store-bought vinyl or
