Win a Tee!!

All month we've been saying how wonderful t-shirts are for playing in the great outdoors.  T-shirts really are the perfect outdoor wear as they wash well, are comfortable and casual.  We'd like to show you another fun site for great t-shirts at really great prices.... .com!!! has a fun selection of t-shirts.  From movie tees to funny tees , they carry something for everyone.  Now, I'm not really one to walk around with Chuck Norris or the Power Rangers on my chest but I know people who prefer to sport the Ghostbusters logo to a button-up shirt.  Of course, if you're wearing your tees camping or hiking.... anything goes!! The giveaway portion of this post is now CLOSED.  Congrats to our winner, cherdon !! Would you like to win a tee?  Of course you would! is offering one lucky reader their choice of t-shirt ($16.99 or less).  Just follow these rules to enter the giveaway.  Be sure to leave your email in your comments if it

What a HORRIBLE Month!

This month bites.  Truly.  Sometimes I feel like we're drowning in a moneyless sea of ruined economy.  Although "sometimes" should be "daily".  For those that don't know, Mr. Artsy Chaos is a contractor.  A residential home building contractor.  Since there is about zero going on in the residential home building market, that equals about zero opportunity for a residential home building contractor.  When you've sunk 20+ years of your life into a career that basically doesn't exist anymore, well.... no one is interested in what you can bring to the table.  Hence, the drowning. Since the first of the month, my mother has been in the hospital having and recovering from open heart surgery.  This is her second open heart surgery, the first she had at age 45.  It's been a scary few weeks.  We nearly lost her in surgery this time as they couldn't stop the bleeding during the 10+ hour operation.  For 3 days after surgery she was unresponsive and on

Life Promises for Success

First, let me say... I LOVE this little book.  Life Promises for Success ~promises from God on achieving your best~ by Jim Tressel is a keeper.   On the rear cover of this book, Jim Tressel, the head football coach of Ohio State and author, says "If you're struggling with your place in the world, if things have become difficult and you feel like giving up, this little book will encourage you, lift you up when you're wrestling withlife, push you forward, and motivate you to be a better person-and a more vital part of whatever team you serve." This is one of those books that you want to keep around to inspire and reassure you with quotes, short stories and touching messages of scripture.  We all have bad days, sometimes we have more bad days than good.  Life Promises for Success reminds us that we're not alone, that everyone experiences the down times and can use some encouragement and words of love. As you turn each page of this sweet book, you are greeted wi

Since my daughter is somewhat of a hair covering connoisseur, we decided to try out a couple of items she would normally wear.  The first is a " Wide Ribbed Chappone " or what we would call a Beanie.  The color is a beautiful olive green. The second item we tried is a Paisley Wide Pre-Tied Headband . This is a fun turquoise color and perfect for holding your hair back. We were im
