Sewing New Curtains with @SunbeltGranola #Craft

Ahhhhhhhhhh yessssssss!!  I finally did it.  I finally made the kitchen curtains I have had the want and fabric to make for over a year now.

Before, the bare windows and curtain rods:

Last summer, I had found the fabric at Joann's for under $2 a yard.  The plan was to make some cute scalloped/pointed valances and add tassels to the points.  But you know how life steps in and makes you rethink sometimes?  That's what happened and I settled on making a much simpler valance.  And that's ok too, I love how they turned out!  Nothing makes a home more cozy than window coverings.

Since the pattern on this fabric did not run with the selvage I had to piece several panels together.  Then, just finish the edges, hem and create the top rod pocket.  That's it.  Easy, easy.  Except, I got a little hungry while sewing.  And then I remembered... Sunbelt Granola Bars!!

Sunbelt had sent us some granola bars for review and they were just the thing for a snack while sewing!  What would I choose?  Oats and Honey?  Strawberry Fruit and Grain?  Sweet and Salty? Or maybe Chocolate Chip?  I settled on Oats and Honey and reached into the box to grab one and only 4 left in the box.  Yes, my family had apparently been enjoying the granola bars too.  It's no wonder really, since Sunbelt snacks are a huge hit around our home.  From the great flavors, variety, portability, nutritional value I can approve of and incredible price value, Sunbelt is a winner for us.  To find where Sunbelt is sold, visit their website to locate a store.  An insider tip is to connect with Sunbelt on Facebook and Twitter as they are known to offer coupons and promotions available only to those who have connected with them.

Oh, and back to those curtains.  The finished product:

One final note.  As I was finishing my sewing for the night, my son was organizing his back pack for school the next day.  We decided that some of those Sunbelt Granola Bars were a necessity.  Growing brains need fuel during the day. :)

I have a material connection because I received a gift or sample of Sunbelt products for consideration in preparing to write this content. I was/am not expected to return this item or gift after my review period.

Endo Review and Giveaway!

We're so excited to introduce you to Endo ! Endo is here for all your outdoor t-shirt needs with incredible graphic designs to wear.  Cyclist?  Camper?  They're here for us all.  Seriously, what's better than a bright yellow tee with a huge tricycle on it?  Yes, a huge yellow real tricycle would be nice but hey, you couldn't wear that and it would undoubtedly be much harder to come by! We were happy to discover that the Endo t-shirt is longer than some which is definitely a bonus.  You know, no risk of the bad "low rise jeans - shorter tee - don't bend over or sit" dilemma.  It's also pretty dang soft and comfy. In addition to this great t-shirt, Endo also sent their logo tote bag.  These kind of backpack tote bags, or "man bags" as all the local teens call them (because all the boys in junior high have them!) are perfect for a light backpack to carry a water bottle, camera, cell phone, snacks, etc., for an impromptu hike, nature walk ...

Sunshine and a Wasp Tale

Where is the sunshine?  The other day it came out for almost the entire day and it was glorious!  Did you see it at your house too? I miss the sunshine.  Kind of like I miss that little girl in the scrapbook page (who is now 16!). Now that my kids are grown or almost grown I also miss those kid experiences.  Playing outside with no real purpose, the sweet little voices, the unconditional hugs.  When they were little, my kids loved to play in the yard and at the park.  Personally, I have a love/hate relationship with the park and backyard swing sets .  Many years ago we had one of those big sturdy wooden swing sets that had a fort look-out, swings and a slide.  It was painted with a lovely dark green enamel paint and occupied its own sand lot on the side of the house.  Unfortunately, the local wasps also thought the swing set was lovely.  They built their little nests in every corner of that thing.  One day my youngest was out in...
