Merry Christmas!

Hoping that you and your family are celebrating a wonderful Christmas!! Thanks for sharing my chaotic and colorful world with me. Here's to a great 2011!!

8th and 9th Days of Christmas

Last night was the 8th day of Christmas or 8 maids a milking. So what did we receive last night? 8 small bottles of milk in a festive bowl! Of course the kids were more than happy to have a milk break before bed. Tonight was the 9th day of Christmas which brings 9 ladies dancing. We received 9 playful cupcakes each topped with a tiny dancing lady. How fun! and yum my! Not to mention the new and very nice cupcake holder they were brought in. How generous our Christmas angels are!! Only three more days left. It's so exciting for the kids to see what's next. Oliver thinks he may have seen who are angels are tonight since it's very, very snowy and quite slippery they were a little slower at the doorbell ditch... or did he? :)

Daily Boutique Sites (a review)

This Christmas season I have really enjoyed shopping mostly window shopping at the high-end boutique "deals" sites. There are many out there such as www.ruelala.com, www.modnique.com, www.giltgroupe.com, www.hautelook.com, www.beyondtherack.com, www.liluxe.com, and many more. Wikipedia defines these types of sites as "online 'flash' sales, offering women's, men's and children's designer apparel and accessories, designer home goods and high-end travel destinations at discounted prices in a limited time sale format". The sales at these sites often last for only a few days and sell out quickly. The merchandise ships when the sale event has ended. You can regularly score 50-60% off and even up to 90% off regular retail prices on clothing, shoes, purses, jewelry, cookware, etc. Plus, some of the sites offer a credit just for signing up making the deals even sweeter. Having purchased from a few of these sites I found the contrast between two in...

4th, 5th, 6th AND 7th Days of Christmas!

It has been a pleasure each night to receive a new surprise! On the 4th day we received a small bird feeder for 'four calling birds'. This works well for us as we have a huge backyard fulllll of doves and other assorted birds. They like to hang out on the roof line of my husband's work shed. On the 5th day we received a cookie tin with golden cookies and 5 ring pops. The 6th day brought a dozen eggs (which are certainly welcome this time of year with all the baking) for 6 geese a laying. Tonight is the 7th day, 7 swans a swimming, and what did we get? 7 "crystal" swans swimming in goblets of blue jello. This one was kind of hard to carry into the house... :)
