Simplify....

Our world is a hectic one. When I say hectic, I don't even necessarily mean just physically hectic. It's mentally hectic. The tugs and pulls and responsibilities and wants and needs and on and on and on! All this stuff, whether tangible or not, makes it hard to stop and remember what is most important to us.

Every day I am bewildered by the drama I see around me. Unnecessary drama. It seems, to me, from the cashier at the store who is worried about having to scan a stack of coupons to the school attendance lady who can't seem to accept a child's simple parental excused absence without creating extra work - that people need to reboot. To simplify.

When did everything become an overly complicated race to the finish. Have you stood at the grocery store check-out line and heard huffs and puffs and hems and haws from the people behind you? Have you ever huffed and puffed at those people in front of you? Are we stopping to consider how this behavior is affecting those around us, or our own selves and family for that matter? This 'emotional drama' really adds to the stress around us.

So here's a challenge mostly to myself and to you if you'd like to accept. Take a deep breath. Let go of the drama and simplify. Close your eyes for 10 seconds and reboot.

Almost Time for Superbowl Parties!

Great ideas for a fun Superbowl party including a review of Super Bowl Home Party Games from Python Printable Games, recipe ideas and more!

So football has never been my thing. I even dated football players in high school and college. Liked the boys, disliked the game. But, the Superbowl is a little different in that there are more things to do than sit on cold bleachers or watch slow-moving (hah!) action on the TV. Yes, we can eat great food, watch hilarious commercials, enjoy the half-time show, socialize and play games other than football!!

The Superbowl commercials can be some great entertainment for the day. One of my all time favorites is the herding cats commercial from 2000. Funniest ever! Check it out below.

Now just because I don't enjoy a football game doesn't mean I don't enjoy a football party. One of the best parts of a Superbowl party is having games that everyone can participate in, regardless of their love or un-love of football.

Python Printable Games has Super Bowl Party Games that you can purchase and print right at home! I like that you can download the games in .pdf files and then you're allowed to print them as much as you need. Not to mention that you have immediate access to your purchase, no need to wait weeks for it to arrive in the mail. Python Printable Games has also given my readers access to some free printables! Check the free printables page for a discount coupon offer as well.

The Superbowl party certainly would not be complete without food and the theme lends itself to many fun ideas.

These Mini Football Subs are adorable! And super easy to make; just make football shaped meatballs, add spaghetti sauce or any other favorite sauce, place on top of a notched bread roll and add shredded cheese 'laces'. The recipe can be found at FamilyFun.com.

Create an easy to make and easy to eat football cake. This cake is just cupcakes assembled in the shape of a football and then just frosted and decorated, easy peasy! This cake is very easy to serve and eat as well, even for the smallest hands. You can find the instructions at Betty Crocker.

Whatever you do whether it be games, food or just watching the game, enjoy the very best part.... your friends and family! And may the best team win!
