A Giveaway

I found a fun blog tonight ! Who loves craft tutorials ? I do. I do !! It's called The Village Shop http://www.thevillageshopblog.blogspot.com/ and they have a great tutorial for a change purse/pouch. They're also giving one away. You have to sign up quick though - before midnight Sunday the 23rd. So run over there and check it out and mention I sent you, if you'd like. I'll be looking for fabric to make me a little pouch ! ;) xoxox ~Wendy

Headbands and Hair Issues

So I've been making headbands for Miss Josie (my daughter). She's a headband girl. She's got gorgeous, wonderful, lovely thick blonde naturally very wavy hair. She hates it. I keep telling her one day she will thank the stars above for such lovely hair. As it is right now, she wishes she had thin, straight hair like all the "other" girls at school. In the meantime, she tames the mass of hair with headbands. There is a totally awesome (yes, I am a child of the 80's) tutorial on how to make a headband here: http://www.kcquilts.com/blog/2006/09/reversible-fabric-headband-tutorial.html . (For personal use only.) Tonight I made a bright colored one with polka dots on one side and fun bright daisies on the other.... and another with froggies. She likes froggies. :) xoxox ~Wendy

Recent Scrapping !

Time flies. Have I mentioned I need more time in a day ? Haha. I miss making layouts. I haven't been scrapping much lately because I've been busy with my shop and creating. Plus, one of my design team terms has come to an end and the other hasn't begun and probably won't until summer. So to fill the "scrapping void" in my psyche right now I'll share a few of the layouts I've made recently. Maybe you'll be inspired to scrap a layout or two !! If you have the time, that is. ;) xoxoxoxox ~Wendy

Picasso Made Me Smile

Found this wonderful quote, I love it !! It made me laugh. It made me smile. How clever. Decided to goof around in photoshop. This is what I came up with. A few minutes well spent. Hope it makes you smile. xoxoxox ~Wendy
There's never enough time !! Seriously, who has enough time in their day ? Time to make sure everything runs smoothly, that all is well and everyone, including YOU, is taken care of. I sure don't. I stumbled across this blog article: http://scrapbooking.families.com/blog/how-to-get-more-scrapbooking-done-this-week by Nicole Humphrey about organizing yourself so you can get more scrapbooking done. I think her advice translates well for any craft/hobbyist. Now, if you *DO* have any extra time please, please feel free to send it my way. xoxox ~Wendy
Today we've been shrinking.... snack bags, that is. You eat a tasty snack, i.e. chips, ramen noodles, candy, cookies, and then turn the bag into a kitchy nerdy keychain or backpack charm ! Ok, they're not nearly as cool as all that but they were fun to make for a minute or two. Kids especially think they're fun. Here's how we did it: Heat your oven to 325 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with crumpled tin foil, dull side up. Spray the tin foil with non-stick spray, like Pam. Wash and dry the bag you want to shrink. Place bag onto tin foil lined cookie sheet and place into preheated oven. Watch as the bag shrinks ! Remove from oven and let cool. We rinsed ours in cool water. Punch a hole in the shrunken bag (we used the cropadile) and add a lanyard, ball chain, keyring, etc. **Not all bags shrink. Ones made of foil won't shrink. Watch carefully and remove promptly after shrinking stops.***
