I Can See Clearly Now {#Giveaway} @EyeBuyDirect Review

Having a whole family that needs prescription eyeglasses can get expensive, really expensive.  You could pay upwards of $500 for a single pair of frames and lenses at your local eye wear store.  Holy yikes!  But what can you do, force your style conscious kids to wear the cheap frames?  I think not.

Luckily, today we have many different options when selecting and purchasing prescription eye wear.  We are not forced to only buy in a brick and mortar store but we can purchase eye wear online with great savings. We can shop at EyeBuyDirect for cheap eyeglasses!  Honestly, we were a bit scared of the whole idea of buying eyeglasses online.  Having been first introduced to the idea by my daughter-in-law who works for a very large call-to-order contact lenses company (think special eyes), we were nervous about ordering something so "personal" as glasses because they really are an accessory in every sense of the word.  How can you decide what frames to get when you can't try them on?

EyeBuyDirect.com allows you to shop for frames from the comfort of your own home plus you can try them on virtually as well.  Most people who wear glasses know what shape and style of frames flatter their face the best which makes it easier to narrow down what to "try on".  At EyeBuyDirect, you can upload a picture of your face or use a similar model's face to try frames.

Try it for yourself!

Of course, you may get carried away trying on glasses since EyeBuyDirect has so many different frames to choose from; rimless, plastic, metal, oval, square, full rim, wayfarer and colors galore.  We love the way you can sort frames by colors!  And eyeglasses prices start at only $6.95!

When ordering glasses online, you will need your current prescription as well as the PD measurement (pupillary distance).  If you don't have your PD, you can have your local eye doctor do a quick measurement or use the instructions/printable rulers found many places online.  We found the ordering process at EyeBuyDirect to be a little trickier than we expected but we were able to order a great pair of glasses.

For review, we chose to get frames for our youngest son who is 15.  His prescription isn't nearly as bad as mine or his siblings as we have freakishly bad vision!  He decided upon a dark semi-rimless frame with thick sides.  They really, really look good on his face.  I may be prejudiced but they make him look so handsome.  We actually didn't do the virtual "EyeTry" as he knew exactly what he wanted from trying on similar looks at the local stores.  He wears contacts as his primary vision correction, but he remarked that he may be wearing these glasses more often as he thinks they make him look good.

The glasses were shipped quickly and came with a hard plastic case for storage.  These frames were $39.95 and all frame purchases include 1.5 Single Vision Lenses and Anti-Scratch coating.  Glasses under $40, now that's a deal.  If you have a stronger prescription and need thinner lenses, there is an additional charge as well as charges for other various lens options.  Basic shipping is a very reasonable $5.95 USPS in the US or Canada.  Shipping is available to other countries.  At EyeBuyDirect.com they also have a 100% satisfaction guarantee!

Right now you can use code IFEUDGEGX2 to get 15% off your order.  AND you can enter here for a chance to win a FREE pair of single vision Rx glasses (exclusion of designer eyewear and sunglasses).

Please use the Rafflecopter form below to enter.  Be sure that your java is up to date and be patient, it may be slow to load.  If you are unable to see the Rafflecopter form or the GFC widget to follow, please refresh the page and that will usually do the trick!

Endo Review and Giveaway!

We're so excited to introduce you to Endo ! Endo is here for all your outdoor t-shirt needs with incredible graphic designs to wear.  Cyclist?  Camper?  They're here for us all.  Seriously, what's better than a bright yellow tee with a huge tricycle on it?  Yes, a huge yellow real tricycle would be nice but hey, you couldn't wear that and it would undoubtedly be much harder to come by! We were happy to discover that the Endo t-shirt is longer than some which is definitely a bonus.  You know, no risk of the bad "low rise jeans - shorter tee - don't bend over or sit" dilemma.  It's also pretty dang soft and comfy. In addition to this great t-shirt, Endo also sent their logo tote bag.  These kind of backpack tote bags, or "man bags" as all the local teens call them (because all the boys in junior high have them!) are perfect for a light backpack to carry a water bottle, camera, cell phone, snacks, etc., for an impromptu hike, nature walk

Sit-upon Tutorial By Rachel Beyer

As a former Girl Scout, I have lots of fun camp memories. I remember learning to tie knots, set up camp and to cook over the campfire. An essential Girl Scout tradition is making a sit-upon. A sit-upon is a homemade waterproof cushion. They are easy to make and I remember using them every time we did any activity while sitting on the bare ground, which most often was damp or scattered with uncomfortable sticks and pebbles. A sit-upon is great for sitting around the campfire, your backyard, or even a sporting event.  There are lots of ways to make a sit-upon. When I was a Brownie Girl Scout, we made ours from old vinyl tablecloths and foam. But in a pinch, you can use a plastic garbage bag and a stack of old newspapers for padding. To revisit this simple craft project, I decided to use a roll of vintage vinyl wallpaper I found at a thrift store and some foam I bought at my local craft store. Essential Supplies: Waterproof Material (vinyl tablecloth, or other store-bought vinyl or
