A Good Walgreen's Trip

$1.08 (13 CENTS before tax!!).  Yep, that's the grand total for 8 items including full price toilet paper and hubby's favorite deodorant!  Of which we sadly needed both.  Do ignore the Gillette body washes on the receipt, they weren't ringing up correctly and I didn't feel like bringing it to the attention of this particular cashier so I had them removed.

We did one transaction previous to this one for the Walgreen's Excedrin promo (buy $20 get $10 register receipt).  We had 2 free product coupons, 2 $2.50 coupons and 1 $1.00 coupon and paid $8.97 pre-tax for 5 bottles of Excedrin (price before coupons and tax $23.95).

Total pre-tax for both transactions was $9.10 for 13 items = .70 each.  Not bad!

I'm always getting in on the end of the sales weeks though.  I would have liked to have gotten more of the Renuzit Crystals for .99 but, alas, they only had one package left.

Awesome!
I was proud of myself for a killer Rite Aid haul this week, but mad at the same time. I never make it to the store til the weekend and then they run out of stuff, or they are starting to post Sunday's prices and I end up confused, lol

Sit-upon Tutorial By Rachel Beyer

As a former Girl Scout, I have lots of fun camp memories. I remember learning to tie knots, set up camp and to cook over the campfire. An essential Girl Scout tradition is making a sit-upon. A sit-upon is a homemade waterproof cushion. They are easy to make and I remember using them every time we did any activity while sitting on the bare ground, which most often was damp or scattered with uncomfortable sticks and pebbles. A sit-upon is great for sitting around the campfire, your backyard, or even a sporting event.  There are lots of ways to make a sit-upon. When I was a Brownie Girl Scout, we made ours from old vinyl tablecloths and foam. But in a pinch, you can use a plastic garbage bag and a stack of old newspapers for padding. To revisit this simple craft project, I decided to use a roll of vintage vinyl wallpaper I found at a thrift store and some foam I bought at my local craft store.
